Collect Data and Route

Data Collection nodes are bounded typed tasks. They collect only configured fields, validate the values, then complete and route immediately when all required fields are recorded.

Choice fields

Define a stored key and one or more spoken aliases for each option. The task stores the key. Your Logic edge must use that key:

Language-routing example

When the caller says Yoruba, the task stores language: "yo", completes without an acknowledgement, and Logic routes to the yo edge.

Prebuilt tasks

Use a native prebuilt task for common collection: name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, credit card, DTMF, or warm transfer. Choose it in the Data node editor and configure only the controls supported by that task. Use a custom task when you need workflow-specific fields or values that must feed Logic.
