Create an Assistant
From the Dashboard
- Navigate to Assistants in the sidebar
- Click the Create Assistant button
- In the modal, enter:
- Name — a descriptive name (e.g., “Customer Support Bot”)
- Template — choose a starting point
Available Templates
| Template | Best For |
|---|---|
| Blank | Full control, start from scratch |
| Customer Support | Handling inquiries and resolving issues |
| Lead Qualification | Qualifying prospects and gathering info |
| Appointment Setter | Scheduling and calendar management |
- Click Create & Continue — you’ll be taken to the configuration page.
What happens on creation
When you create an assistant:- It’s saved locally with status draft
- It’s immediately synced to the voice engine (Vapi)
- It gets a unique ID and is ready for configuration
Your assistant is automatically published on creation. You can start testing immediately.
Plan Limits
Your plan determines how many assistants you can create. Check your current usage in the header bar (e.g., “3 / 5 used”).Next Steps
